The Bedrooms

Travancore       Camelot       Tara
Avonlea       Eden       Atlantis       Provence

Just so you know, all of the rooms, and the house itself are named from places in books. Each of our rooms have a copy of the book after which the room is named. All the bedrooms at Sleepy Hollow have private bathrooms, 5 are ensuite bathrooms and two of the bedrooms you need to put on the plush housecoat from the closet to cross the hallway.

To quote our 1906 copy of the Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving, "A drowsy, dreamy influence seems to hang over the land, and to pervade the very atmosphere."

Travancore

Third floor

($145 Winter - $170 Summer)

Travancore is the "room at the top" right under the turret roof, on the third floor. A king size bed, the largest of the ensuite bathrooms that includes an extra large "Ultra tub", the best whirlpool experience because it pumps air rather than water. Travancore is on the third floor and looks out on the town and the Gananoque River. A great place to hide from the everyday cares and pressures of the outside world. Emerge refreshed and ready to take on whatever awaits. Travancore is the room name that most of our guests ask about. It used to be a province that was the Riviera of India where Don's great grandfather worked building a bridge in the previous century. We have tried to create here a Riviera of Sleepy Hollow.

The Tara Suite

Second floor

($140 Winter - $160 Summer)

Tara is a spacious, warm, inviting room. The largest of the bedrooms on the second floor (15 x 13 plus the alcove area), this room has a king bed, an ensuite bathroom with oversized shower. In the alcove area, a "SofTub" hot tub has been added, a table and chairs for a quiet spot to read or for your first cup of coffee in the morning. This is our most requested room.

The Avonlea Room

Second floor

($110 Winter - $130 Summer)

A restful and whimsical room. And the stained glass window enhances the theme. The room (13 x 13) contains two twin beds or a King bed (be sure to let us know your choice) and a 3-piece ensuite washroom.

The Atlantis Room

Second floor

($120 Winter - $130 Summer)

A quiet and cozy room. This room (13 x 13) has a king bed and a three piece ensuite bathroom. It is a favourite with nautical minded guests.

The Eden Room

Second floor

($95 Winter - $120 Summer)

Flowers on the inside make this a bright sunshine filled room.  It overlooks the back garden and the morning sun through the stained glass window will get you up early.  A large octagonal room (18 x 16), this room has a Queen bed and includes a private 4 piece bathroom next door. It has a double pull-out couch so that 4 people can sleep in this room ($25 each for the third and fourth person).

The Camelot Room

Third floor

($135 Winter - $150 Summer)

Located on the third floor where roof lines and room shapes are unique, Camelot is quiet and secluded. This room (16 x 18, irregular) has a king bed and has it's own 3 piece bathroom ensuite and "Softub" hot-tub.  A heavenly retreat but don't bring the kids for this room!

Provence

Third floor

($75 Winter - $100 Summer)

Located on the third floor, Provence has a Queen size bed and a private 3 piece bath across the hall. The decorating style here was influenced by our visit to the south of France and Peter Mayle's book "A Year in Provence".
